Young Maritime and Renewables ambassador programme
21/01/2026
This inspiring new STEM initiative has been designed for all young people aged 16–19, not just those already focused on marine or renewable energy careers.
The programme welcomes curiosity in all forms, whether they’re passionate and informed or just starting to explore their career options. The goal is to spark conversations, build awareness, and give young people across the Humber region the tools and confidence to engage with the sectors that will shape their future.

The Ambassadors Programme has been developed to raise
awareness of the significant opportunities across the Humber and wider region
in maritime, renewables and the associated supply chains. It is designed to
support young people’s understanding of local career pathways and future skills
needs, while strengthening links between education and industry.
Humber Marine & Renewables are engaging with all secondary, independent and higher
education institutions, alongside industry partners, local authorities and
careers hubs. The initiative is already receiving strong interest from each
organisation involved, andthey are beginning to receive enquiries ahead of the
main programme launch in 2026.
The project will be supported by significant media and PR activity,
with endorsement from industry and full backing from local authority careers
hubs, ensuring strong visibility and long-term momentum.
By supporting this initiative, schools can help build meaningful local impact, while also laying the foundations for future engagement projects and access to additional resources for schools and colleges across the region in the coming years.
Phase 1 of this initiative has already started but there is still
plenty of time to submit entries.
