Trauma Informed Employer Training

12/09/2025
Following the last Humber Training Group meeting, you are invited to a FREE workshop for employers to understand about recruiting care leavers.
Overview of Employer Training Trauma-Informed Employer Training:
Tuesday 23 September
Brough Business Centre, Baffin Way, Brough HU15 1YU
Purpose of the Training
This training is designed to help employers better understand and
support Care Experienced Young People (young people who have
been in the care system) as they move into and sustain employment. It is a
core part of The Warren’s Recruitables Project, a youth-led initiative
that emerged from a two-year research project funded by Youth Futures
Foundation. The aim is to break down the barriers care leavers face and to
create more inclusive, understanding workplaces. The session is
co-delivered by youth workers and counsellors from The Warren and includes a
mix of research insights, real-world scenarios, and reflective group
exercises.
Structure:
The training begins with introductions and context setting, followed by
short films and hearing the voices of Care
Experienced Young People. Participants are guided through key
research findings, take part in scenario-based group activities, and explore
the impact of trauma and how to apply trauma-informed approaches in the
workplace. The session ends with reflection, action planning, and a personal
commitment to better support care leavers in employment.
Key Outcomes:
By the end of the session, employers will:
- Have a deeper understanding
of the lived experience of care leavers.
- Be equipped with
trauma-informed principles and strategies.
- Commit to practical actions
to improve outcomes for care leavers in employment.
